In this episode of GWAOw!!! we look at Sign PDF with Jotform Sign.
About Sign PDF with Jotform Sign
Sign PDF with Jotform Sign is a Google Workspace Add On (GWAO) that allows you to collect e-signatures for any PDFs stored in your Google Drive.
This is such a useful tool that I have moved to Sign PDF with Jotform Sign for e-signatures of my client service agreements.
The add-on has some great tools that allow you to create and edit the input fields for your document before sending it to signatories.
Features
Straight from Google Drive
For us Google Workspace users, a major benefit of using Sign PDF with Jotform Sign is to prepare a PDF for signing directly from our Google Drive.
You can also set up Jotform Sign to automatically save your signed PDF in your Google Drive (or a bunch of other locations) with their integration tool.
Automatic field detector
Once your PDF is loaded into the Jotform Sign builder, there is a handy prompt that asks if you would like your input fields detected automatically.
Yes, please and thank you very much!
Drag and Drop
There is always room for some sweet, sweet tweaking of your input forms and you can do this easily with the drag-and-drop tools.
From here you can also make physical adjustments to the input field and assign who should sign the document.
We can also do some advanced editing to these fields. For example, I can change the date field to always be today’s date and then be an uber-nerd dev and make the date format yyyy-mm-dd
.
Sharing for Signing is Easy
Sending the PDF for signing is really simple.
Probably the most common approach that you will take to share your PDF is to send it via email. Here you have the option to set the order for who you want to send it to first, customise a message and even set an access code.
You can also provide a PDF to sign as a unique link for each signatory. This is handy if you want to share the PDF link from your own Gmail email. Sometimes clients are more comfortable with this.
Alternatively, you might want to embed the link to a website. For example, you may have an internal site where clients log into and sign a contract as a part of your workflow.
You can even monitor the progress of the signing process.
Sign the document from a unique link
Your document signatories will receive a link to sign the document. When you send an email it will look a little like this:
Clicking
Review and Sign Document
the user will see the full PDF with clear marking of the fields that they need to fill in.
Once all parties sign the document, they will receive a PDF copy of the signed document.

You can even request to include an audit trail at the end of the document.

Pricing
Sign PDF with Jotform Sign has a very generous free tier consisting of 10 signed documents a month. Because Jotform Sign is part of the Jotform package you also get the benefit of a form builder, payment submission and storage.
When your organisation needs secure and regular documentation and form building there are four affordable levels of pricing depending on your needs.
